East Central
Ministries began in the spring of 1999 when John Bulten began walking the
streets of southeast Albuquerque asking community members what they felt
their community needed. Through this process John was led to a form of
ministry called “Christian Community Development”. There are many elements to
this approach but the essence is
“never do for someone else what they can do
for themselves”.
A few years and many projects later
we have developed three main areas of focus:
|
|
|
Community Programs
Projects created in partnership with the community that allow
our neighbors to fully participate in the development of their own
neighborhood.
|
|
|
Youth
Programs
Programs aimed at nurturing, discipling and building indigenous
leadership in our community.
|
|
|
Micro-Businesses
Small businesses and projects that provide job training,
employment and economic opportunities in our neighborhood.

Please take some time and explore our website to get a better
feel for the ministry. However, words and pictures can never really tell the
whole story so next time you are in our neighborhood, please come and visit!
